I've worked in higher education and nonprofit consulting for the past two decades. At Bryant University, Stonehill College, and Harvard University I led the marketing and strategic communications groups; and at GG+A Global Philanthropy I have advised colleges, universities, independent schools, museums, arts organizations, and medical and science institutions in the US, Canada, and Europe on fundraising and capital campaigns. Previously I worked in magazine publishing and advertising in New York and Boston. I also served as a US Foreign Service Officer in China, in between college and business school. My wife Terri and I live in Wellesley MA and are now empty nesters. Our daughter Nina married Ned Donaldson, a fellow Bates College alum, in fall 2023. Nina works for the Natural Resources Defense Council and Ned works for Lattice Inc in San Francisco. Our son Teddy graduated from Harvard in 2020 and works in New York for the advertising technology firm EDO Inc., and writes comedy on the side. My Davenport College classmates and I created and manage the Davenport Class of 1982 Cowles Summer Felllowship as a way to support current Davenport College students.
