Eesan Balakumar I'm from Yorktown, VA, which is where Lord Cornwallis surrendered to General Washington and where very little else has happened since. That being said, I will contend vigorously that Virginia is the best place in the U.S. to live, followed closely by the beautiful campus we have here in New Haven. On campus, I am heavily involved with the Model UN team, which was recently ranked the top team in the world, play intramural sports, and occasionally fool around a bit with the guitar. The ESPN logo may have been burned onto the screen of my television because of all the time I spend watching SportsCenter and following pretty much every sport, from cricket to golf and everything in between. I am majoring in Political Science and Economics and would love to be the owner of a rectangular West Wing office sometime in the future. |

Harris Eppsteiner I was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Atlanta before heading up north to attend Yale - and I've found that the cold winters are TOTALLY worth it! I'm majoring in Ethics, Politics, and Economics (focusing on international development), and I'm hoping to work somewhere in the developing world once I graduate next year. Outside of class, I'm really into music - I spend way too much time playing guitar and piano, and I sing with a number of groups on campus, including the a cappella group Out of the Blue. I'm also involved with Jewish life on campus through Yale Hillel and the Slifka Center. Welcome to D'port!

Katie Falloon I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and love being in Davenport, the best college at Yale. I am a pre-med English major hoping to start med school after I graduate this year. I love to write, especially about anything related to medicine, and enjoy volunteering at a local free clinic and tutoring. I also love Fro-Yo World and pumpkin ice cream at Ashley's. |

Peter Jasinski I was born and raised in Lebanon, New Hampshire a small, New England town just south of Dartmouth. Outside of academics I’m a co-president of Davenport College Council, an Intramural Secretary, and a member of the Yale Electrical Engineering student group. I’m an avid fan of Yale athletics and, at the end of this year, will have seen every varsity team play. I also enjoy backpacking, the snow, building things, and hour long lunches and dinners in the Davenport dining hall. |

Sameera Rahman I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago and am a proud Midwesterner. Among other things, this basically means that I love deep dish pizza and sometimes refer to soda as “pop.” Also, I am a huge, huge, huge fan of the Chicago Bulls. At Yale I have been involved with the cultural houses, Yale Scientific Magazine, and an organization that works on development projects in India. I am double majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) and American Studies. I love hanging out with friends or just watching movies (horror films are actually my favorite), and I cannot wait to meet the Davenport Class of 2015! |

Dacia Thompson A native Floridian, I didn't even know where Connecticut was before I applied to Yale. Now, I am so happy to live here in this lovely state, wonderful university, and the best residential college of them all! I love spending time in the Davenport courtyards or on Old Campus with my friends, but I also really enjoy keeping busy with some super interesting and fun classes and activities. Most of my time spent on extracurriculars is dedicated to Engineers Without Borders, the Episcopal Church at Yale, the Yale Student Environmental Coalition, and being a leader for Freshman Outdoor Orientation Trips. When I’m not on campus, I’m either relaxing in the beautiful Florida sunshine or adventuring abroad. |

Alejandro Torres Hey there! My name is Alejandro, and I'm from Dallas -- how ‘bout those Mavericks! I'm really into sports: I play tons of IMs for Dport (which I encourage everyone in Dport to do) and love watching football games. I enjoy hiking, running, tossing a frisbee, and pretty much anything that involves going outside. I'm a 10 year old trapped in a college student's body: I love hanging out, going outside, and being loud. Oh, and no kidding, I am a Super Smash Brothers master (on the N64), so bring it. |

Danielle Wiggins Hello everyone! I hail from the wonderful Garden State. I'm a trivia buff who especially enjoys minutia about the presidents, '60s soul music, '70s bubblegum pop, and '80s cinema. I'm also a huge Beatles fan, my favorite album is Revolver in case you're wondering. When I'm not working on a paper in the Dport library or eating very long dinners in the dining hall, you can find me banging pots and other percussive instruments with the Yale Precision Marching Band, broadcasting a radio show from the WYBC Yale Radio station, working to eradicate the achievement gap with Yale Students for Education Reform, or hooping it up with Davenport's Women's Hoops team. |
